If you live in the United States, most likely your child will be placed in an ESL class. That is an English Second Language - where he/she will learn how to speak it. Don't worry about not being able to speak English well, at least you try. I have seen different ethnic people refuse to speak English while in America; they expect Americans to speak THEIR language.

you should not be judged on your language. there are many many kids born every day to people of none english speakers. are you from here in the US? Maybe you just need to take some reading/language classes to help you better your speaking. I am not about to judge you and tell you not to plan on haing kids, cause its your life and if you can provide shelter, food, clothing and most of all LOVE for a kid go on and plan away. there are schools that help kids and adults with this kind of problem. god bless you and whatever you decide.

Is English your first language? If not then it shouldn't be a problem, if so is there a specific cause behind your inability to speak proper English? If not attend some night classes to improve yourself. You child will be taught in school but the few years of learning are very important and if you are not capable of speaking properly you will deficit your children.

I am, yes, unnerved by the people boasting about what great mothers they are while barely being able to string a sentence together.

It's made me _thoroughly_ grateful that my mother (1) went to university, and (2) stayed home...

And now I'm just amused at the people here saying "Well, there're American public schools." Or, rather, 'scools.' Oh, dear.

You are all complete idiots. This person is poking fun at those who choose not to use good grammar, and are the reason that the gene pool needs a life guard.

... wtf? Those who can't speak or write good english, have no right to plan for kids, because they cannot teach their children english?

That is just retarded. Your own english sucks beyond measure.

I disagree.
