An application I am trying to install has the Trojan Horse Backdoor.Generic3.ybj. I would like to remove the Trojan before installing the application. Can anyone provide recommendations?

Your virus checker programme company may well have a removal program on their web site, usually they are quite easy to follow and should give you no issues. Some of the pesky Trojans need a specific program to remove them and will not form part of a normal virus checker. Alternatively find a more reputable download site and get an untainted copy. I used to be a complete fan of Norton, there removal tools are superb. Microsoft also has some.

You can get an antivirus, install it and seeing that it is generic (been already detected) the antivirus will pick it up and destroy it's sorry ***.

Also this must be a key gen that you are using (or somthing else from the hacking underground) avoid such programs, you are just working yourself in a deeper hole.

AVG Free will do the trick.
