For the last month I have watched myself go from a person who was the life of the party and a poster child for normality, to a person who is EXTREMELY depressed and often talk to himself, usually only stopping once I notice whtat I am doing. I believe that this is due to increasingly unberable stress that is caused by college and my job. I am not sure if this is something everyone goes through, but im worried because thoughts of suicide have crossed my mind lately. Please let me know your opinions

Stress can make you feel and act sorta crazy. If you were actually nutz tho, you probably wouldn't be asking anyone if you were. However, if you have had a lot of pain in your life and you are just holding on and holding it in - it will come out one way or another. If you are pushing yourself too hard and having all these negative feelings, then maybe you should re-think your priorities. That degree is not going to do you any good if you are not taking care of yourself first. I have battled depression for years and I do empathize with you. It is NOT something to play around with tho. Especially if you are having thoughts of suicide. You never know when those feelings will overwhelm you and be more than you can handle. I had to get on meds for my depression and it has changed my life for the better. Please see a doctor about medication and maybe therapy. It doesn't mean you will have to do it forever. It may just be situational right now, but you don't want to lose your job over this, or even worse - your life. If you want to communicate one on one for some more suggestions, just send me a message thru my profile. Please do something different to take care of yourself.
Good luck!

When it comes to mental problems such as these, never consult a psychiatrist or therapist, because 9 times out of 10, they will make you feel like you're crazy when you're not. You know yourself better than anyone else, so if you have to ask you won't get the right answer, cause no one will never know the extent of the problem or why you've reached this point. Talk to God about it, he will help you in ways you never imagined if you truly want to be happy, cause he knows all & he will never steer you wrong.

You are in an early stage of depression. It will only get worst, so you should consult a doctor about it. I went through the same thing. You are trying to do to much at one time, take a break and relax a little bit.

Stress is the number one cause of depression. The condition if left untreated will compromise your ability to study and make life unbearable.
Mention it to your doctor and he/she will prescribe a mild anti-depressant. You will be amazed at the change in less than a week.
Do it soon.....
Good luck with your studies.

I have similar problems. I left it untreated and it just gets worse, so I recommend you go and talk to a doctor about it.

Talking to yourself is normal sometimes. Sometimes that is the only sane person nearby to talk to...
