I couldn't afford all the dentist wanted to do....didn't say there was any medication, just wanted to spend thousands on a special cleaning and wire the loose teeth together. My gums didn't bleed much, but were definitely receding and I had several loose teeth.

I tried ORA MD, ORA Dr., and Tooth Soap products which I purchased on-line. They all seemed to help with the irritation some. I like one of the ORA's the best - the most expensive one, of course. But it's only around $40 and lasts months. I had to stop using it for financial reasons, but ready to buy more. My gums no longer hurt because I've figured out what caused the receding (I brush my teeth! That wasn't the problem.), now I want to see if they will grow back.

Then, I found soft tooth brushes at the Dollar Tree dollar store that have plastic gum massagers on the side. It feels good to have the gums stimulated. When I first got them I brushed more often than I ate to stimulate the gums.

Then, I started taking Barley Green and it calmed the irritation - I could tell when I skipped days. I've done that for 4.5 months and it's an energy boost, too.

Then, I found out soy and corn products irritate my gums - I must be mildly allergic to them. I no longer eat them and this is where I found the greatest relief, although everything else helped. (Cut foods out of your diet one at a time for a week and add them back to see if you have food sensitivities. (Read labels, soy & corn are everywhere and just a little can get my gums inflamed.))

I'm a firm believer that gums can get stronger. Mine definietly have not gotten any worse, only better.

Oh, my husband also sells a product from Waiora called Natural Cellular Defense (NCD) that contains zeolytes that absorb toxins. When my gums got really bad a few drops of it would take away the pain pronto. This stuff is not cheap. I really believe in it though, and just so you won't think this is a sales pitch I'm not giving you his website to buy it from us. Google Waiora and you can buy it from the company if you're interested.

It sounds like you have no need to worry. Your gums should not bleed - and if being more gentle fixed the problem you are probably on the right track. My personal picks for healthy gums: Floss once a day (be sure not to snap the floss into the tissue, it should glide alongside each tooth -so for every time you slide the floss between your teeth you're actually flossing 1/2 of two different teeth). Sonicare is an electric toothbrush that does an excellent job - with virtually no chance of brushing "too hard". - You don't even use a brushing motion with it - you just hold it at the gumline and it "vibrates" the plaque away! Good for you for taking your teeth seriously - you'll be glad you did!

A good peridontest.
The deal with the gums.

in the mean time.
Get the softest tooth brush you can find.
Use GEL not paste, and brush gentle.

if it bleeds you are brushing too hard.

Take niacin and b- vitiamins.

good luck.
You need to go to a special dentist, and get this looked at, they will take a culture of your gum and fix you right up, give you a special garggle.

good luck!
healthy gums and teeth are a sign of royality

Brush your teeth after every meal.
If any bleeding is noticed while brushing, this means you need to brush and floss more often or more thoroughly and that you need your teeth professionally cleaned.

Floss at least once/day using proper flossing methods. By not flossing you allow the bacteria to build up to dangerous levels.

Decrease the quantity and frequency of your consumption of sugar. Sugar helps plaque grow.

Visit your dentist twice a year.

Mouth rinse containing chlorhexidine, an anti-microbial agent, which removes excess bacteria.
use a high quality electric tooth bruth

Yes there are. But you NEED to see a DENTIST, and probably a periodontist. Medication alone will not fix your problem

Vitamin C helps the gums too. And check with your doctor to test you for diabetes.
