Not sure about the 500, but Elliott Sadler did finish in Talladega upside down in '05. It was the second year in a row he flipped a car in the Talladega fall race. I think was was best about Clint's wreck was that he was mad about only being credited with 18th place.

Maybe NASCAR should start awarding "style points". Give 'em five bonus points for good saves, close finishes, spinning without hitting anything, finishing with a flaming car, etc.

Last year I saw a guy finish upside down in front of 7-11. He hit the curb and rotated and landed on his roof. Front row seat to that event. Lucky there was no fire.

i am not sure of anyone else. what a great story though, he will have other chances to win it, but when you get chance like that. that is great story to tell. he played it cool too, just got out took off his gloves nonchalantly like nothing had happen. no he wasn't drunk at the time, bet he was shortly there after.

No he was not drunk. He got hit by a driver and slammed his car in the wall. The impact sent his car up into the air and his car flipped over.
