You only have to watch some of the outside interviews with the public that Jay Leno does on his show to see how ignorant many Americans are about world geography. One recently asked them to name a country beginning with "U". No-one said "United States" (or Ukraine...) but several said "Utah"!
Also, a year or two ago the Scots were up in arms over an American tourist guide to Europe which described Scotland as "a region in northern England"!!!

I saw that on T.V. and thought they had to have found the dumbest people is this country. I also wondered how many people got the answers right but were edited out.

Mind you....not all Americans are ignorant, some of us know a little something about the planet we live on.
