I have never used heroin, although I am in my mid-forties and grew up in a time when illegal drugs were openly used and have been experimental myself. I'm not going to lecture or call you stupid or try and scare you straight. But I do know that if I was going to try heroin, I would have a new, sterile hypo and I wouldn't share it with anyone. Period. You didn't say anything about using a clean rig for both of you each time you guys shot it for two days, which is the ideal situation, if there is any ideal situation for heroin use, which really there is not. If there were, I'd have done it. Anyway, my friends who have been on junk said it took more than a couple times to become addicted and it is the hardest drug addiction to kick other than alcohol. It changes your body's chemistry so you truly need it to be functional. I understand you found a girl that you had fun partying with (that's what drug partying is all about--at least at first), and it's understandable to want to see her again. But I would have serious doubts about someone who actually talked me into turning onto getting high on heroin my first time. That's not the same thing as giving someone an aspirin. It's real dope and if you want to try heroin, it should have been solely your decision to do it. I have never, and I'm honest about this, turned anyone onto my drug choice when they have not used before, or talked anyone into doing something that they did not decide for themselves before they met me and I have not allowed anyone to talk me into a first-time high with them. If I used, it was my choice and when I got dependant or busted, that was my own fault. She may be a fun party girl who seems generous, but she's low on intelligence and sloppy with her gear. Let it go and have fun in a safer manner. Life is dangerous enough without inviting disaster. Take care, my friend.

Three reasons you are in danger:
You may have started with a "clean rig", but both of you used it, right? Using a needle is like having sex in this respect: you share with only one person...or do you? How many others has she shared needles with? You have no idea. In essence you are sharing with all those poeple and anyone they have shared with and so on. Teh more anyone does this the more addicted tehy are and the greater the chance of getting really sick and dying. You are really putting yourself at risk of a lot of bad diseases, Hep C and HIV to name two deadly ones.
If you want to "try" it again, that means you like it and this is the beginning of addiction. You may not be able to stop. You may tell yourself, I'm not addicted, I just "like it." Same thing. You already crave it, so you're addicted.
You say she's fun. It won't be fun when she starts asking you for money to buy more heroin, gets you addicted, gets you to start buying it from her or other addicts/pushers, you get arrested, or some other addicts or pushers beat the crap out of, or kill, you.

You should watch the TV show "Intervention." Every time I see a meth, heroin, or crack drug addict on there, they NEVER succeed in staying clean. Even if they have kids who they will never see again. Drugs like Heroin, Crack and Meth are SO scary, why would you even ever want to test yourself knowing there is a strong possibility you will be addicted and will likely die a bum on the streets after having alienated your whole family by stealing from them and breaking their hearts after seeing you waste away. Addiction is the worse way to die because you not only torture yourself but everyone you love and who loves you.
This girl is NOT fun. Fun is sledding in the winter and tubing down a river in the summer. Not doing drugs.

It can be. It's almost impossible to continually hang with someone, definitely if your interested in them, and not end up getting hooked. I have a friend who was born addicted to that stuff. Both his parents were heroine junkies and he came out of the womb shaking. So, that gave him every reason not to touch the stuff, or any hard drug. But a few years ago he met a girl and like you, he really liked her and and unfortunately he ended up smoking crack for a whole year.
So, I would leave this girl alone. Unless you think your invincible or something. I always told myself that I would never ever put that stuff in my body and what happened? A few years ago I got with this guy and he was selling Speed and I eventually tried it and was seriously tweekin'. Even though I know what they put in that stuff and have seen what it does to people I still did it not once, but twice. Because I thought I was so in love with this guy. So, I really think it's impossible for you to be with someone and not make their habits your own.

Mark your first mistake was doing Heroine, your second mistake is wanting to go see that person again, you will want to get the same high you already achieved and because HORSE is so addicting you will never be able to achieve the same high...you will be chasing your dream and the next thing you will be is D E A D!!!

I doubt it if it was just once and you'll never do it again. But I don't know if you can get hooked on the first try. In that case, yes you are in danger. DUMP THAT STUPID FRIEND! And good for you for wanting to change.
