The drug react different to everyone.
If you are feeling better due to the medication, and doing more activities........Then Yes, it would be normal to lose some wieght due to increased activities.

A positive mental attitude also helps one lose the wieght too.

If this is something that you wanted to do, make sure you are eatting healthy!!

but, it's not a side effect if that's what you were wondering!

I think it has to do with the "feel good factor".
And if you are less stressed, then the body will naturally follow and if losing wieght is something positive, then it's natural.

That is a very high rate of loss, You should ask your doctor about it. Also keep track of what you are eating, has it changed since you started taking prozac? Are you eating less? are you more active? Maybe if you are feeling more content, you are not doing any comfort eating. Anyway go and see your GP as 2lb per week is usually considered the maximum healthy weight loss

I was given Prozac and I found it stimulated my whole organism--too much. I was hot all the time (it was spring, not summer), I was never hungry and I *could not* sleep. I was never tired, and even if I lay down I couldn't fall completely asleep--I was aware of noises in the street etc. all night. After about 10 days I started hallucinating water running down the walls of my flat.
Yes, I lost weight because food while it tasted good, just wouldn't go in.
I don't think Prozac is ideal for everyone. It certainly wasn't for me.

I have not taken it for weight loss. I have heard it does work well though. I wouldn't take it just for weight loss myself, but if I had to take it anyway that would certainly be a welcome side effect.

I've been taking this drug for the best part of ten years and never experienced weight loss. One of the side effects is loss of appetite. You should see your doctor because you might have another medical problem.
