It sounds like a scam to me. First of all it would never be the hotel that processes your visa. Second, there would not be a conference that would be held in both the USA and Canada. Third, a Holiday Inn would ask for a credit card number for your reservation, not a cash payment.

If it smells like a fish.. it's a fish.. and this is fishy! Where are you coming from that you need a visa for Canada? And what on earth would the Holiday Inn have to do with it if you needed it? Don't send any money for anything requested by a stranger online! If you didn't contact them in the first place, and just received a random email you can bet your booties that it's a phishing scam. They want your money and/or your financial information.. don't fall for it!

Who is Ella Borge and why would a conference deal with terrorism awareness and poverty at one conference.

Sounds fishy to me, Not only that, NO ONE CAN GIVE YOU A VISA EXCEPT THE GOVERNMENT...These people can't process anything.

Don't send money
Don't send Personal information

Hmmmm. Most hotels want a credit card to guarantee and that is it. Pre payment is not always necessary. I would tend to think it is a scam. Contact the hotel directly and ask for conferences and catering. They would be able to confirm a conference.
