Sometimes its worse and I have to shut it down, and restart. Then it is ok. I have windows 98, could this be the problem?If I install windows xp, will this help? It makes a crunchy sound when it gets slow.

Go to http://tune-up.com and download the program then get to fixing the things that are making your computer run slow (most likely too many background programs running)

This could bea virus in your computer..
Try to scan for virus on your computer....

OR

You're not installed windows xp properly.

OR

Upgrade your RAM. This could help you much.
