i want to know which is better for a gamer like me,i only surf the net and play my computer games,so i was wondering which is better

You'll regret it if you don't use it right now: Windows XP
Why?
Because there's still bugs and troubles with Windows Vista. Even after all of those RCs and Betas it's gone through.
Or you could wait for around a year 'till you are definitely sure that Windows Vista is harm-free and buy a new computer or upgrade it.

I'm not sure how games are specifically affected. But the general rule of thumb is that if you're not buying a new machine, stick with XP. If you are buying a new machine, it's probably OK to go with Vista.

Get Windows XP cause Vista is still in its infant stages and needs more support while XP is established and still pretty powerful.

It depends on the performance rate on your computer. You wouldn't want to get Vista if you have a low amount of memory, but if you have a moderately new pc, then go with Vista.

gaming? it depends. vista is fairly new so gfx drivers are pretty crap. but the system is awesome! some games work good some dont. css source doesnt work very well.. but games like world of warcraft does. xp is a better choice for gaming i guess.

Stick with XP until a few service packs have come out for Vista.. If you don't.. you WILL be sorry!

Are you buying a new preconfigured pc? If you are, you might as well get vista preinstalled. It's awesome.
