The guy I like didn't give me anything but a hug for Val Day, but that's exactly all I wanted. Some old girl at work is teasing me that she's his Valentine...but she's not. I flipped around and asked him "Well why didn't you get me anything for Valentine's Day?" ---
even though he knew I didn't want anything. He said ... "But you are my Valentine!"

Here's the question...
How much stock would you put in the comment
"But you are my Valentine!".
Then he went on to tell me how to stand up to her yacking mouth.
And he told her that I knew what up between us.
Right! Like I know. I'm asking ppl on Y/A.

So is he really my Valentine and was all that his way to say he likes me?

Yes, I got what I wanted!
But I thought the comment was super sweet. I just wanted your opinion.

Honey first and foremost you said you only wanted a hug...It doesn't sound like this guy is your man yet. It does sound like this chick is a line side bytch trying to break up the possibility of you two hooking up.I think this should be a big warning that dating people you work with can be a BIG problem. Not only that you have to worry about this girl playing games and that is not acceptable. I will tell her to keep it professional or you will go to HR for harassment and realize that you only like this guy and you shouldn't complain when you got actually what you wanted from him. My husband and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day because we show each other our love all of the time. Good luck and no matter what you do...stand up for yourself!
