I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO FIND MY SCANNER ON MY COMPUTER. SO THAT I WILL BE ABLE TO SCAN PHOTOS. I HAVE AN HP PHOTOSMART C3180 AND I DOWNLOADED MY SOFTWARE OFF OF THE INTERNET NOT FROM THE CD THAT IT CAME WITH BECAUSE I'M CURRENTLY WORKING WITH WINDOWS VISTA A NEW PROGRAM.

You need to make sure that your software is vista compatible. Not much software out there is right now.

Once downloaded, the software needs to be run in order to install it. Locate the downloaded program and RUN it.
NOTE: HP Director is not compatible with IE7, you'll need to run the patch found on the HP site.

Sorry mate, go back to XP give vista a year or so let other people learn first just to iron the problem
