Well, are both your parents still married? If so you could say
Mr. and Mrs. Brides family
and Mr. and Mrs. Grooms family
request the honor of your prescence at the marriage of
Bride and Groom name.
(This is the way we did it, although we contributed. Gave kudos to Mom and Dad)
If this is a divorce situation and there are lots of names involved you could say :
Bride and Groom
along with their parents (Families)
request the honor of your presence....
but if some noses would be bent out of joint over that, you could just put your parents names, not your step- parents names.
I hope this helped.
Good Luck!

Could you say this?
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Evans Smith
and
Mr. and Mrs. John Tyler Richardson
and
Groom Smith and Bride Richardson
request the honour of your presence
at the marriage of
Bride First and Middle Name
and
Groom First and Middle Name
on Saturday, the ninth of June
two thousand and four
at two o'clock
First Church of Christ
219 North Granby Road
Granby, Connecticut
Or some variation of that. Though..... I'm guessing that any etiquette expert would encourage you to omit your names from the initial paragraph and to only have your parents' names.
Good luck!

The wording of the invitation has nothing to do with who is paying. Just use the traditional format.

Really hung up on this aren't you? Just go to a printer and he or she will assist you. For heaven's sake, this isn't rocket science!
