I can't be the only one who's done this.

Ah, since you asked. My brother is instructed to open with "She told me she wants these songs played. She also said that I should turn it up loud enough until the funeral director says, 'you really shouldn't go louder than that' and then go two notches more."
My songs will be "1979," "Welcome to the Black Parade" and "Famous Last Words"
A poem by Rabindraneth Tagore and something I found insprirational by Carl Sagan. Donations to the town library for freethinker books.

And in lieu of flowers, I'm requesting bumperstickers for the casket.

I have no idea why I think about this so much. I do not work at "Hot Topic"

I actually don't care. I just want to make sure that there's an open bar at the wake.

This answer is embarrassing, but completely defines my "dorkness". My song would be " Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves. Or "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" by the Police.

No big drama, a happy celebration of the next great adventure, just toss my ashes into the sea off the southern coast of Ireland. And a Harp playing after...

My ashes are to be scattered on the banks of the Mississippi in Helena Arkansas. The songs will be - The greatest song of all and the hotel Hallaluj. The words will be the heartfelt send-off of my friends there and my kids will throw a big picnic at the park.

I would ask for Baha'i prayers for the departed to be said. As for songs, I'd like my all-time favorites to be played:

'O Mare e Tu - Andrea Bocelli with Dulce Pontes
Pedir a Tu Corazon - The Gipsy Kings
Summertime - Leontyne Price
Ave Maria - Franz Schubert
When I Dream At Night - Marc Anthony

I want people to wear bright colors and celebrate LIFE! I'd want them to dance and sing and cry and laugh and JUST BE.

I hope there is an open bar and all my friends and family took cabs to my funeral. I also want a DJ there too to keep things movin! Some of my family is religious, so they will want to say some stupid religious stuff. But if that makes them happy, I won't mind them doing a little of that.

I think it'd be cool if they had a theme going too. Like formaldehyde shots and Earth worm finger foods.

Ave Verum Corpus
I heard the Voice of Jesus Say (To the Tallis tune)
At The Lamb's High Feast
A Mighty Fortress
To end it "Mozart's "Credo" From the mass in C Minor.

Also, as well as a funeral, this may be rather cultish, but i want to have a Speaker for the dead. (Like in the Card novel). i want an objective person to interview the important people in my life, those who loved me, hated me, didn't mind me, and really didn't care that much about me, and then to try and give an objective recounting of my life and how I lived it.

I'd like to be tossed into a ditch somewhere with 'Another one bites the Duste' playing in the background. Or being fed to a Great White could be quite spectacular, with the Jaws music playing...

Though not Christian I still find Amazing Grace to be an incredibly beautiful song. I plan on playing it when I finally pass. Others will follow, probably "The Blood of Cuchulainn" as well, it's a traditional Irish song.

when i was young i wanted to have "seasons in the sun".
now that i'm older, though probably not wiser, i would like to have led zepplin played.
the only things that i want said are how much i love my family and i will see them on the other side.
and just to annoy the religious relatives "there is room in the universe for every way, you travel yours and should you need it i will help you as i travel mine."

In my funeral, I will ask for apology and forgiveness for all my mistakes when I was alive. I will also say a general forgiveness statement, forgiving everybody who has done me wrong. I will thank those who have showed me love, kindness and understanding, and lastly, I will ask for their continued prayers as I will need prayers to enter heaven. God bless us all !!!
