I have just been on a date with a man I met a few weeks ago. He told me when we first met that he was 32. Tonight he told me that he is actually 40. He has 2 children a son at 20 and a daughter at 17. I am 22, I am not sure what his intentions toward me are and if he is too old for me. Help.

I'm a 40 y.o. man and the only reason I would pull some crap like that on a younger woman is to get some.
It is a dirty, lowballing technique, comes with experience.
As you can see, it tends to have an effect.

That is NOT good at all! first of all he lied. You are 20 and have all your life ahead of you, to start with some one fresh and young! of course the up side of dating an older man is that you will learn from his experience, but don't be trapped in a serious relationship, you don't need all the baggage he's carrying.

I agree 100% with Da Boss. The man you're dating is a perfect liar and I think that if in a relationship there are lies, the relationship is a weak one. So stop falling in love with him and dump him.

Hope this helps and Good Luck hun.

RUN girl this is a mess you do not need. He has too much baggage and to many too old kids. You are young enough to be his daughter. Think about it, you know what his intentions are. Get away now before you get sucked in any deeper. Find you someone more your age so you will have things incommon and be at the same stage in life. Help yourself out of this relationship, fast

Best people to ask are his children, they and their attitude will break any relationship. How would you feel if your father came home with a 22 year old? My daughter would kill me if I returned with a girl of her age group.

Yeah I'd have to agree that he is to old, but some say age isn't nothing but a number so if you're interested in him and comfortable with him having kids your age I mean go ahead, but it's definitely something I couldn't do myself! Go for his son instead. Lol

You are the only one who can determine whether he is too old for you. Personally, I can date a man who is 15 years older than me but nothing more than that.

You should ask him why he lied about his age, it is not a good sign!

the age does not really worry me. its the fact that he lied to you about his age that makes me feel like screaming "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE~"

the intention of his in NO GOOD, in fact BAD. if he is honest with you in the beginning, i will tell you that it's ok. but since he lied to you, i will say, just let go.

im sure he's charming in his ways and behaves very much gentlemen... and hey, this comes with experience. be very careful of this guy.

you dun have to ask this guy why he lied to you cos most probably, he'll tell you another lie again.

good luck!

I wouldn't say age is the big issue here. I'd be more worried about the fact that he lied to you right off the bat. Age doesn't always matter, but being a liar does.

I wouldn't say he was too old for you,but do you really want to be laden with all his excess baggage at your age.You should be having the time of your life right now,go out and enjoy yourself the years pass by too quickly.
