II want to share some of the things in my life that at one time I was very negative about: had an alcoholic mother who periodically beat me so bad I would pee from fright. I have been so poor that I couldn't afford to have gas or electricity on at the same time. I have actually run OUT of food before pay day. I had a child at 16 and raised her without welfare or child support. I have bi-polar disorder and wasn't diagnosed until my mid 30s. This is all old news. During that time I progressed step by step in my life and now have a wonderful relationship with my 30 year old daughter, I earn enough income to employ 4 people and have travelled extensively. I think that when life is tough (and it is tough for MOST of us) we have to put our heads down and focus on taking action, one step at a time. You have to focus on the things that you ARE grateful for and no matter what the situation, there are ALWAYS things to be grateful for. Control the things you can control, let go of those you can't and thank God for the whole experience because it is making you what you are. Also, if you are constantly negative, it is possible that you may need medication. A combination of action, focused gratitude and medication might work for you. I'm sorry for your negativity and can assure you that with focused effort on your part an attitude of gratitude will prevail. With a lot of mental effort I now have a wonderful marriage and relationship with my family. I give you my very heartfelt wishes for your success.

The glass is half full when you start out expecting nothing. If you think the world is supposed to beat a path to your feet, you will be disappointed and gloomy.

There are so many things to be thankful for, if you start expecting nothing. Even a breath of fresh air is a gift that you can rejoice in.
