Yes it sure is the same thing. Just watch yourself and be sure you're giving your information to a reputable company, not one that will keep billing you and never send you what you've ordered.

Credit card works in such a way where the amount is deducted from the card, but the bank pays the money upfront for you first then lets you decide when you want to pay up with charged interest.
Debit card, however does not allow you to deduct from the card if there is no money in the bank.
When you order something online, you can use both debit card or credit card. As long as there is Visa or Masters stated.

Yes, it is the same. Every bank is different, some banks issue two cards:a credit card and a debit card.If you have only one card and have any logos on it such as visa or MasterCard and will be using it online it'll be the same as a debit but will take about two days till it appears on your statement. When using the card as a debit in any store, they will ask you to touch in your pin number and it will deducted off your balance immediately.

Like the others have alluded to...

When you order something using your "debit card", the amount you authorize is deducted directly from your bank account...same as if you wrote a check.

When you order using a "credit card", you are then "charging" the amount you authorize, payment is deferred until the end of the present billing period and you are charged an Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for the privilege of charging your purchase.

Debit Card withdraws money directly from your checking account. I personally wouldnt use a debit card to order online, you have more protection when using a credit card.

Whether online or in a brick & mortar store, the big difference between credit and debit is:

Debit: pay now, we immediately withdraw funds from your account

Credit. You carry a charge and pay at the end of the business cycle. You can accrue interest charges if you don't pay all your charges.

Yes..as long as the debit card has a mastercard or Visa logo on it AND you have the money in the bank.
