To avoid biase, I won't say what team gets who.
THis is the deal between 1st and 3rd place team.

1st place team gets:
Brodeur, Ray Whitney and Marc Savard

3rd place team gets:
Marty Turco, Jaromir Jagr and Simon Gagne

Who do you think will win this trade??

Well I am the first place team.
I currently lead the league in all offensive catergories except for Assists.

Gagne has no use for me and kills my +/- rating which will get worse now that he doesn't have Forsberg.
Jagr has slowed down a lot and considering that I already have LeCav, Selanne, Iginla. I can afford to trade him for Brodeur.

Everyone in the league says I won the deal but the other guy thinks differently.
This is a private pool among friends and that's why i wanted your advice. I was still goign to accept, but I was just curious as to what the world thinks.

anyone trading Brodeur is an idiot.. Whitney is alright, but a good team is around him, Savard is on a crap team. Turco is crap--everything I here about goaltending and Dallas is about Smith these days, Jagr isn't doing much this year.. Gagne is the only thing Philly has.

Horrible trade. Turco for Brodeur? And I thought I made bad trades in Yahoo Fantsay hockey. Brodeur leads the league with a goals against of around the 2.10 mark and leads the league in shut outs. Whitney was on a small streak with his hat trick a while back, but he is no Simon Gagne or Jaromir Jagr. He never was even back in his days when San Jose made such a big hype about him. Savard has better numbers as far as I know in the assists category- he's more of a pass first, shoot second guy. Gagne is the goal scorer of the Flyers. Jagr's been plagued with some injuries this season, especially his back/shoulder. Team number one really messed up.

I'd say the 2nd. Brodeur is the better goalie, but Ray Whitney is just getting extremely lucky. Jagr needs help though. Savard is good, but Simon Gagne is always very good. He has about 35 goals this season on the worst team in the league. I think it's even, but I'd say 3rd place team may a little edge possibly with Gagne.

Numbers wise 3rd place team got raped. But potential wise i think the trade is pretty much dead even. Brodeur is a little more consistant then Turco and Jagr and Gagne are more consistant year after year than Whitney and Savard. I guess it all depends on what the weaknesses of both team are.

1st place team wins hands down.

Brodeur is on the way to another 40+ win season, Savard is having a career year and Whitney is the top scorer in Carolina.

Turco is having a sub-par year if you ask me, Jagr is good but has slowed down a bit and Simon Gagné is on a losing team having a so-so season.

First place team wins this one easily. Brodeur is really hot right now, and there's no goalie better than him currently. Marc Savard is one of the most underrated players in the league, and he is playing exceptionally, also.

Turco is good, but he isn't worth as much as Brodeur. And Gagne is on the worst team in the league and even if he plays well he'll kill you in plus/minus because the Flyers almost always lose.

HANDS DOWN THE FIRST PLACE TEAM. Turco has been sitting a lot more frequent lately with smith getting hot lately. Savard is an awesome pick, you can be guaranteed you will pick up some assists. I hope your the first place team. If you arent, dont accept this trade.

Old hockey adage says the team who gets the best player wins the trade. Brodeur is the best player at his position this year again. Mind you there isn't much season left but he already has 12 shutouts so yo could see as many as 3 more. Whitney is interesting too
