My neighbor and I have been best friends recently that have sex. I like him and he likes me as well. He has given me one of his shirts and asks me to stay with him all the time.He also treats me somewhat like we are already dating. He also talks to me about most of his problems, and his mom says that I have brought the good back into him. He has been going through alot of family issues ( a death in the family ) and has been hurt soo much by other females. What could be holding him back from asking me to be his. Or could I already be ?

He might of been so hurt by another female that he is afraid to attach himself emotionally to you, in fear of being hurt once again. It might be a defense mechanism. Your best bet is to go with the flow, continue to be there for him, and see where things lead to.
Good luck!

You ask several questions here.
1. Is this love?
2. What is holding him back?
3. Could I already be his?

1. Love is unmistakable, if you are in love there will be no doubt in your mind.

2. Perhaps he is unsure of how you feel about him, and because of past issues with women, he is not willing to commit without being sure of how you feel.

3. Whether you are his or not, is YOUR question to answer. If you are his, then tell him so and you can get on with your relationship. If you don't, it might not go anywhere.

If he has gotten hurt in the past maybe not making anything official is his way of not getting hurt again. It sounds like he really cares for you...just be honest and tell him how u feel. Maybe if he knows your true feelings and intentions he will be more apt to make things "official"!

he's prolly just scared. let him have his time and space and just be there for him... and it may make him feel better not to have the complications of the "title" relationship, and just this loose uncomplicated friendship... if you are the only girl he is talking to and "being" with then technically he wants to be your man, but since he is going through so much don't press the issue. just be there for him and when he sorts things out and isn't hurting so bad you'll be his one and only angel. good luck..

yOUR NOT his until he makes that clear. Would you like to be with him? Ask him " how come you haven't ever asked me to be your girl?"

You know it never ceases to amaze me how stupid us women are to jump into bed with men ...do first then ask questions later.

Ladies you go into the bedroom with your eyes wide open. Like this....he is a lay and will remain...after that i move on and he is simply a friend, nothing more, nothing les.. If he lives by your and knows where you live right off the bat....FOR PETES SAKE...RULE NUMBER 1 DON'T BED HIM!!!

Why do you think that a man should always be the one to ask? Why not ask him to be yours? Life is too short! I say go for it! He sounds like a very nice person. :-)

You already are...now just ask yourself how you feel about it. Sounds like you got yourself a pretty good deal.

you practically are, just ask him and tell him how you feel about the situation...Afterall you'd be highly dissapointed to find out you have been emotionally and physically tied into him and this relationship if it is non-existent. Just confirm your actions and observations
