a man with both no arms and legs was trapped in a burning house. to save himself, he jumped out of bed, ran to the window, opened the window...and jumped out of the burning house. QUESTION: how did he do all those things?

You said he didn't have any arms, but it appears he did have legs- "both no arms AND legs" so my guess is he used them to jump out of bed, he shouldered open the window and jumped out!
(unless of course that was a typo- and in that case, I have no idea!)

He either was having a bad dream or maybe it's a trick question and he did have legs. The way the sentence is written,the word "both" makes us first assume he was missing "both" the arms AND legs. However, you could have meant just "both" arms. If he did indeed have his legs, that would explain how he could jump, run, and opened (by kicking).
