Aren't Christians supposed to love their neighbors? Yet I constantly encounter Christian who hurl baseless insults the second you dare to disagree with you. And may fate have mercy upon you if you should dare to point out the logical errors by these self-appointed messengers of God! Sometimes they turn around and accuse YOU of being illogical, despite the fact that they clearly don't know the first thing about logic. Are they really THAT insecure? Furthermore, are they insecure because they are Christian, or Christian because they are insecure?

I'm not upset about the insults. It is the hypocrisy of it all that is so disgusting.
I also would appreciate more creative insult. I never met a Christian who was able to hurl anything but the most basic, juvenile insults.

I'm not required to be logical here, as I am not stating an argument. I am only stating personal opinion. Whether or not you choose to agree with me is not my concern.
Nice try though.

I'm sorry you've had a bad experience with Christians! But let me assure you that all of us do not act that way. People are people and are bound to disagree, especially on things they feel deeply about! As far as logic goes, well some things one considers logical, another feels ridiculous or illogical. Depends on the point of view and the experience of the of the person in question!!
I for one am not insecure in my testimony of Christianity at all. I know Christ lives for I have seen him. I feel him in my life daily. He is as a rare jewel who's beauty can only be observed by those who know what their looking at.
In lay mans terms:
You have to believe it before you'll see it.
If you don't believe it then you'll never have the priveldge of partaking of the blessings he has to offer! It can't be explained away by those who can't see it because those who do recognize it for what it is. God lives. Jesus LIVES. He is a resurected being. He offers so much to each and every one of us if we only believe on his name and obey the commandements.

Chicken or the egg......we may never know. However I do believe that xtianity breeds hostility and anger towards others. It is certainly within the realm that it breed insecurity as well....after all they are taught that they are as filthy rags without christ's blood to wash them clean. Maybe they are angry and insecure that someone else has found a way that works without having to feel like a worthless being.
They hurl insults because it is all they've got. There are no preachers in here to tell them what to say. Sorry to seem crass, but that's how I see it.

I've been in your exact position, and I've often been met with this quote, "Well, I believe in Christ as my Savior and I'm going to heaven. You're gonna go to hell." I believe that most of the time it is out of ignorance, their refusal to accept other viewpoints. Christianity is very hard to defend, yet can be successfully done by any half-decent Theologian. Of course, the majority of Christians encountered are not Theologians, and have never experienced anything out of their minuscule mindset.
They've only ever heard the romanticized version of the Bible presented by their preacher where everything makes perfect sense. Reading the actual text, however, produced a number of moments of contradiction and just plain stupidity. The Book of Job is a book often praised for amazing faith on behalf of Job, though taking a closer look at God he is portrayed as a murderous, violent, and insecure deity.
Bottom Line:
They're afraid of questioning their faith because if they did so, they'd see in reality they have no faith. Question your beliefs, your religion, is the only way to see your faith is something is strong or not. If you're so afraid of being contested, and examining yourself, then you have no faith. They become hostile out of ignorance.

I'm pretty sure Christians aren't the only ones that do this. I've seen people from all standpoints do this on here. Everyone is suppose to treat their fellow man with respect even if they disagree with them. That's not just a Christian idea, believe it or not. I'm sure some are just like you, they don't enjoy being ridiculed for their beliefs. That's a people thing, not a Christian thing.

I will respectfully debate any logical errors anyone thinks they may have found in the Christian faith. I will not however debate hypocrisy found in individual Christians.
There, since I did not turn to insults, your statement of generalization has been proved false. Next question.

to those of you who condemn gay marriage, right this is my question: what makes 2 people extra healthful to be married? Why could a guy and a woman be married? the respond could be love, dedication and dedication. Too frequently adult males and woman are married with the absence of those, it quite is why 50% of hetero marriages bring about divorce. Heterosexuals use the privilege of marriage so freely, and yet refuse to permit those of a separate orientation the comparable. and don't attempt to supply me that sh*t approximately how homosexuality is "unnatural". some honestly everyone seems to be born with an imbalance of testosterone or estrogen. besides, it quite is not as though comparable intercourse coupling is a clean element. there are various documents in historical Greece of homosexuality. a real dating should not be based fullyyt on actual intimacy besides. Love could come specifically else. If a gay couple is in love, they could have the flexibility to receive the legal and non secular privileges a marriage delivers. Homosexuals are not basically "gay" or "lesbian". they are people, in simple terms as full of targets, needs, and desires as any on the instant individual. it quite is undeniable unfair to tell them their love is an abomination. Sorry if this does not answer your question, yet i think that a number of the lack of information in the solutions right here could be addressed.

I will agree that many Christians turn to adolescent name-calling but not all of them.
I, for one, used to be much like the kind of Christian you described. I was a very bitter person in the name of God and I hurt a lot of people. I still have my very human flaws, but I have been working hard at trying to be a nice person.
Please think twice before generalizing whole group of people.

Yes we are supposed to love our neighbors. About a half hour ago I asked atheists if we could work together and world peace and many just told me about fundamentalist insanity instead. I believe that all of us who claim to be Christian should be acting like it and doing our best to promote peace. I also believe that ignorance and intolerance are not unique to Christians and that many people in other ideologies also find it easier to insult those who differ from them especially when contradicting themselves.
