my mom went to India today because of her sister's death she's going to be gone for 20 days it's only began about 5 hours since she left. I started missing her a half hour after she left. I just really want her to come home, what can I do to not miss her so much? Oh yeah I'm 12 years old.

Thanks for all of your answers! They were very good suggestions, and quite enlightening. The suggestions though, were so good that I can't choose one best answer. Therefore, I will let the public do the voting.

Well you know she has to go because her sister died and really there's nothing she can do about that but maybe if you can write her a letter or call her or something that would make you feel better. I'm sure she knows you miss her and she'll be fine and before you know it twenty days will have passed and she'll already be back home. :)

You are in the age where you want to be with your mom a lot. That is only for some people, but it looks like you are still an adolescent? Well, call her if you can and ask her if she can come home little bit earlier because you miss her so much. And while waiting, why don't you go to nearby cousin's house or friend's house to forget about your absence of your mom? You have to get the thought out of your head that your mom is not there. Just entertain yourself and keep yourself busy. That ways, you will forger she's not there.

u cannot stop missing your mother cos u love her. : )
try to call her if you can or try to get in touch with her.
you may want to do something sweet like writing a letter everyday to tell her about what happen in your life and how much you miss her. then when she comes back, give her all the letters. she will be very very touched.
be a good girl and be an understanding girl whom your mum will be proud of. your mother must be feeling very sad and probably cry a lot cos of the death of her sister. so, make sure you let her feel your love when she is back.
stay happy.

Why don't you write in a journal all the things you are thinking? Write down why you miss your mom and the things that you like about her. Whenever you miss her, write something down. I am sure it is probably difficult to talk to her on the phone while she is in India. When she gets back maybe share what you wrote with her. I'm sure it will make her feel good inside, especially since she is probably saddened by the death of her sister. She will be back soon enough. I would miss my mom too.

how much do we love our mums!!!!
hang in there 20 days seems like a really long time and it is but if you think about it 24-7 its going to take a whole lot longer... find yourself something that occupies your mind and that you enjoy.. and spend heaps of time with friends - just keep yourself busy and the time should fly by!
write letters to your mum (even if you don't post them they're a great way to get all your feelings out) and maybe you can give her them when she gets back - im sure she'd love them.. i bet she'll notice a lot changes in you when she gets back, you'll probably find you'll grow up quite a bit in these few days and you'll really appreciate her when she's home

sweetheart your love for (and influence on) each other is not dimminished by the distance between you. you are who and what you are in great part due to your mothers effect on you in more ways than you could know at this age and ,with much wisdom and beauty to be discovered by you over time . as much can also be said about your influence on her. so while the things learned and experienced by some of these early(and also very nessesary) seperations seem harsh now. you are not now nor ever will be apart from one another. paul

She will return soon, don't worry. Play some games, talk with friends, yes even study!:)
I am 55 and my mom is no longer living, but I would give anything on earth to see her again. The love of a child and mother is very special.
Hang in there!
