He asn't. He was telling all those people who he is. What would happen to him, and what we need to do in order to be saved. I'm glad you noticed that he made some rather lofty claims about himself, but he was only telling the truth. That made him different than all other men, and yet he was a man. Yet he is also the Son of God, like he said.

Jesus did not brag about himself. He was explaining a better and brighter life later "Heaven". He could make you do anything he wants you to do, but he doesn't because he loves you and wants you to make up your own mind and your own decisions. Where did you ever get the idea that Jesus was bragging. He saved the world. And if he wanted to brag - which he didn't - he sure earned the right. Can you go 33 years without committing one sin - I doubt it.

Jesus was letting the world know who He was so that the world will believe in Him. If you don't tell, nobody will know.
There is so much evidence that Jesus is God but yet the world refuses to believe in Him.
The world surely doesn't ask lots of questions about other religions they want to believe in and what it is that the religion has done for the atonement of the sins of mankind but surely asks lots of questions about Jesus... what did Jesus do...y did he brag a lot, y did this that & the other thing........

Tell me, The Master of the Universe was put to death on a cross....He bled to death so that you can walk out free from sin by His blood....Is that bragging??????????????????????

Has any other so called Gods did that for us?
Name me one if you can, try me.

Man says, show me your power first (solve life's or current issues) & then i will believe in you but this is what God is saying......
Believe in me first & then I will show you!

Whether you like it or not, Jesus is God....& YES, He should have bragged more so it will get into the stony head of unbelievers.

Jesus did not brag about himself. He cared and had compassion on the people. He healed many from disease and gave many people hope.
He gave us the greatest gift of all--Himself.

What do you consider bragging? Simply stating the truth about oneself? He was either a liar, a lunatic,or Lord like he said. Most religions are willing to grant that he was a good teacher, a good rabbi, but would such a person lie about themself. Would such a person be deluded about who they really were - making them a lunatic/ crazy person? Or was he who he said he was, the son of God, Messiah, Savior of the world?

Another question from someone than has obviously not read the Bible. He often told those he healed. "Your faith has made you clean" he gave more credit to their faith and to his Father than himself.

Luke 17:11-17 (NIV)

Ten Healed of Leprosy
11Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[a]met him. They stood at a distance 13and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!"
14When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.

15One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

17Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" 19Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."

assuming Jesus existed as a real and singular individual who said anything at all, no one can know what he actually said. it's been over 2000 yrs since he purportedly walked the planet and that's more than enough time to embellish his life story and put words in his mouth.

He never bragged about Himself. He was humble.

The One and Only person who could, and should have, claimed to be God - because he is. No brag, just fact.
