Nowhere in the Bible, is Lucifer called Satan or the Devil. All of the above answers were self interpreted. Or they are using something other than the King James Version. Even using the New KJV is not accurate. Look at the KJV and you will not find any such reference.

The idea of the opposites, good and evil, came into Christianity from Persian Zoroastrianism. probably via the Essenes. St. Augustine of Hippo, the principal architect of Christianity after St. Paul, was influenced by his origin within Manicheanism, a heresy of Zoroastrianism, yet he maintained that only the good exists, while the nearest thing to evil was one's departing from attachment to the good. However, even if Isaiah mentions Lucifer, the concept of the divine creature who is a bad guy, a prince of darkness, is principally Zoroastrian and not much found in Judaism. The personality of Satan as the devil is apparently cribbed from Set in thousands-of-years-old Egyptian religion.

The only place the word is used in the bible is Isa 14:12
However no where does this say he is the devil!
Nowhere does this say this is an actual person!

BUT THEN AGAIN THE BIBLE IS BS!

ISAIAH 14.

Check out the ancient manuscripts. Lucifer's name is Heylel Ben Shachar.

And Heylel is actually another form of the word, Halal.
