Hello.

I would like to know what possibile ways there are to go about organizing photos. Like many people, I have tons of photos scattered about in my closet. Most of them (if not all) are not in any kind of albums. They're just everywhere.

I would like advice on how to go about organizing everything. Old prints, negatives, and digital. I want to know if I should invest in albums, scrapbooks, computer/online storage, etc. Most likely a combination of these things. Basically, I want them organized and I want them easy to access.

My goals after organiztion will be to perhaps get them into frames, portfolios, give out, etc. But until then, I would like to know how I should go about organizing them ALL. What I need to buy, how to get started with this mess, how to get them all together, etc.

Any/all ideas will be appreciated. Thank you!

[Serious answers only please.]

Hi ,
Im slowly going though my old photo albams, I have a few Really LARGE ones.
So its getting them out of there sticky sheets, which is slowly sending them yellow, scanning them into my computer (which dose take time).
But this is for me to make a dvd of my life. from childhood to where i am now.

So i scann though my photos when i get a chance (its been a good year now and im only a little way though) but im putting them in folders on my computer in sections of age.

this way it gives me a time line to work on.
I would suggest not getting any sticky leaf folders.. they are easy to use but damage the photos later on in life.
use the ones you can slip in and out the photos.
or even the ones that my grandpartens used. which were like scape books.. and you buy sticky corners.. which stick to the book and hold in the photo.. and then you can add other bits and trivia beside the photos.
Hope this helps.

I want to come back here to see what great answers you get.
I must have 12 shoe boxes full
I think it must be an overwhelming job, so I ignore it.
