How would your husband feel if you had three lovers that you considered equal to him?

(I don't ask this sarcastically, but seriously...God loves you)

According to the Catholic Church you are. But I don't agree.

When that commandment was given, most people had their own personal god ( or jinn as you'll hear muslims call it, in new age, spirit guides ), a family god, a village god, a city god and a state god. So, "God" was saying "I really am the only God", not "there actually other gods and they have equal sway up here in heaven".

Now I am a pagan, sorta I guess (that's how Christians would classify me) and I do invoke other "gods and goddesses", but ultimately they are only facets of the Creator. So the commandment doesn't pose a "sin" issue for me because of the particular way I believe.

actually it is worship no gods before me.

and this could have many meanings.

before me could simply be a chronological order thing.
to say that durring a given ritual it is God first, then any other gods that you wish to worship.

OR it could mean before me as in front of me or in my presence. so that you cannot worship other gods durring the same ritual that you are worshiping God in. or in his sacred spaces.

i actually believe that the bible means that God does not want you worshiping any other gods if you plan on worshiping him. so i have just decided to not worship him.

How is that even possible? are you a unitarian? or what?

Sounds to me like you do not fully understand the religons you claim to be "equal" in...

that or your one of those people who disreaguard parts of certain religons that you don't like. So everything can fit into your theologies.

Since there is no god equal to God, the answer would be no.

How in the world can you be that combination? They all contradict each other

Sin to worship any other god.
