ignore the negative comments!!! i would say go see a nutritionist or cut down on portions, eat more veggies, and be a little more active than usual. i come from a big family and I've been there done that! don't worry you'll lose it!

I'm sorry to be harsh but at 330 lbs you have a very serious problem, especially since you're only 18. Even if you have knee cap problems, it's really important that you start a low-impact exercise program and start eating better. There are plenty of things your doctor could recommend for you to lose weight; there are videos you can purchase or take out of the library. Or you could just start walking. Once you start exercising and changing to a healthier diet, you'll see the pounds melt right off - and I'm not kidding. Try to stay under 2000 calories a day. I can't recommend any particular exercise for you to do ... that's your responsibility. If you don't take care of the one and only body you have, no one else will. Good luck.

Hey sweetie. First of all, ignore the guy above who thinks he can talk a big game online (real brave, huh? *rolls my eyes*)

Anyway I think it's great that you would like to lose some weight. It will help your knee problem and stress levels and you'll feel better overall!

If you are wanting to lose weight (especially so much weight so quickly.. 30 pounds by the end of april) you need to talk to your doctor or to a nutritionist. I saw a nutrionist and I can't tell you how helpful that was! It was a wonderful experience.

You should also talk to your doctor to find out if you have any underlying medical conditions that are contributing to your weight or would cause problems when starting a diet or exercise program.

Consider going to the gym at your local hospital and working with a trainer. They have GREAT facilities, are super nice and you'll probably feel less self conscious there. They can help you figure out a workout program that will not put stress on your knee.

Good luck!

Don't use some phony diet plan you find on the internet. The only thing you'll lose is lots of your money. See your doctor. Exercize, even if it's just a half hour walk each day. Drink lots of water, eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Limit your meat portions to the size of a deck of playing cards, and make sure it's lean meat. Baked is better than fried. Limit your carbs to whole grains. Don't snack past dinner time. Losing weight and keeping it off will need to be all about lifestyle changes, and not just a fad diet. Good luck, and make an appointment soon!

Reader's Digest published something they call the Change One diet. I believe this meant changing one thing at a time to reach a new (lower) level/plateau of weight than your current plateau.

This can be a successive thing--i.e., give up the bedtime snack and see what that does, then after that becomes part of your autopilot system, start walking 10 minutes a day, etc.

try joining a gym first off, then eat healthy is the next thing. Eating things in moderation, you can have what you want just dont eat a ton of it, and possibly substitute some of the bad things, like fast food, with healthier things you could cook at home. And with the gym membership, i have bad knees too, there are workout machines that are less impact that will help you, or swimming, or other activities that you can do that are low impact that will help you.

Don't listen to Quinton...he's a d!ck..That's right, you f()cker...you're a d!ck!

Gastric bypass surgery might be what you need, as it has worked for a lot of people.
If you don't want to take it that far, there are some powerful weight loss supplements that you can take, but they usually have side-effects.
Go to a doctor and tell him that you want to lose some weight and you're interested in maybe pursuing something beyond just diet and exercise.

Good luck.

I have cartlidge missing behind my kneecap and have been gaining weight also. It's hard to get around to lose weight and the more weight I gain, it's harder on the knee. They shot cortizone in it, but it didn't help much and didn't last that long. I'm gonna have to get knee surgery. Maybe you can try to go for some walks on flat land. The hills kill my knee.But I can manage flatland semi-OK.

why are you acting like you dont know the answer to this question? you didnt get 330 lbs magically, and you wont lose the weight magically. dont eat as much, and exercise more. im not surpised you have a knee problem, all your joints are probably in trouble or will be in the near future.
