We were driving in my car when he said it, at first i thought it was kinda funny but later, after it sunk in, I realized that my feelings were actually hurt. I dont want to make it seem like a big deal, should I just wait a little while and get over it????

I'd say it depends on what was going on. It's happened to me before. I was irritating my girlfriend and for some reason she called me here ex's name. I didn't make that big of a deal about it, because she explained it to me. The irritation just kinda brought the name out, so to me it was no big deal. It also depends on how long you've been with him. If the relationship is still kinda new, then it's kinda understandable. If you've been together awhile then like I said mabye something just triggered his brain into saying it. All together, i'd say no biggy...

no enormous deal, until eventually that is an primary occurance. human beings make mistakes; perhaps they are merely so used to creating use of that call that they made an innocuous slip- my sister calls me by her son's call each of the time, and that i'm 25 years older than he's! merely because he used the incorrect call, it does no longer advise he's contemplating his ex, or desires he replaced into nevertheless at the same time with her. we are human; he cared for her, his emotions are triggered by his present day female friend (your sis), and he used the incorrect note (call). do not seem for a difficulty if there is no longer one. Does he deal with her properly? Is he into her? it truly is all that concerns.

I wouldn't take it too personally. You have to understand that the brain--which is responsible for thought and language--is an organ. How many times do we mess up even close persons' names. Consider it for a moment and you'll likely realize it's quite common. The emotive regions of the brain may trigger some familiarity and that is why he mistook your name. He likely felt bad about it. It happens. Try to understand how that may have come out of his mouth. If you have to, talk to him about it. Most likely, it's nothing. Good luck.

It was a mistake. I came out of a marriage and had to stop myself on several occasions from saying my ex-wife's name. Let him understand that you know it was a mistake or a slip of the tongue, but I think that it would be good to express to him that it hurt. Honesty and communications are vital in a relationship.

I hope it doesn't bother you too much cuz I called my fiancee mom once. Just slipped out in brain haze. She got pretty mad cuz she was talking about dishes or cleaning or something and I wasn't really paying attention and I guess for a second it was just a little like home. But that's what it is, he was probably just off in space and that name came to him. I'm sure he regrets it. Please forgive.

Of course u are over reacting. wait, and be patient , it is natural that the name would slip just without thinking, wait and watch , if it happens over again and again, he's still not got over wid the ex girlfriend...

Its actually good. We get used to saying the names of people we care about, and by calling you by his ex girlfriend's name, it means that you have taken her place.

well if he was wit her a long time it could just be that he is used to saying her name a lot, not necessarily meaning he is still thinking about her . now if ur in bed thats a diffrent thing.
