Arrr now you see it can't be given! can it?... no it must be uncovered, discovered within yourself and when you do you will have so much to do that eternity will only just seem like enough time!

The problem with thinking about everlasting life right now is as some have mention not too appealing as we face hardships, trials and ill health for most of our life times. This is not how God wanted things to be though, the bible book of genesis describes how life was to be ..." Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”Genesis 2:28. Adam was put into a beautiful garden and his job was to take care of it and enjoy his life. Only when he disobeyed God did this change. But God's purpose for the earth hasn't changed and when people pray that 'God's will, be done on earth as it is in heaven' they pray for the time when God's original purpose for the earth is fulfilled. A time when there will be no suffering, violence, crime, ill health or even death. Revelation 21:3-4. I would love to wake up every day and do fulfilling work in beautiful paradise wouldn't you? Just for a little bit of science....Is there any evidence in the makeup of the human body that it was designed to live forever?

It is widely recognized that the capacity of the human brain far exceeds any use to which we put it during our present lifetime, whether we live to 70 or even 100 years of age. The Encyclopædia Britannica states that the human brain “is endowed with considerably more potential than is realizable in the course of one person’s lifetime.” (1976, Vol. 12, p. 998) Scientist Carl Sagan states that the human brain could hold information that “would fill some twenty million volumes, as many as in the world’s largest libraries.” (Cosmos, 1980, p. 278) Regarding the capacity of the human brain’s “filing system,” biochemist Isaac Asimov wrote that it is “perfectly capable of handling any load of learning and memory which the human being is likely to put upon it—and a billion times more than that quantity, too.”—The New York Times Magazine, October 9, 1966, p. 146. (Why was the human brain endowed with such a capacity if it was not to be used? Is it not reasonable that humans, with the capacity for endless learning, were actually designed to live forever?) If you have any questions regarding this please feel free to email me.

I wouldn't change a thing. God's idea of eternal life is fine with me. Can you imagine getting bored with never having to go to work and never having a schedule to keep and mastering a new hobby every hundred years or so? How about walking every square foot of the earth? No, eternal life doesn't sound boring to me!

I assure you that if I were the recipient, I would not get bored. There is always more to learn, and lots to do. Science fiction author Robert Heinlein explored the idea in an interesting novel, "Time Enough for Love." Just think: I could be the first person on YQ&A to score a billion points! How thrilling would that be ...?

The "lucky guy" would be dead already. That's the reason why the promise of eternal life is after death.

love is eternal life. Eternal life as you are thinking here does not exist. God is another word for humanity and love, life is only eternal becasue we love and loose and remember.

A man only lives as long as the last man who remembers him and holds him close to their hearts.

Surely if they were given eternal life boredom wouldn't kill them?

I think God wouldn't give life eternal, I think God is far wiser than that. Or maybe we do have life eternal, we're just made to forget every now and then lol.
