Not much is presented to the public about Copper and its importance to the world as a whole but more specifically about what it did for this nation to grow. Its a rare metal now and prices are sky rocketing because the supply is running low. I think you may find that it had a big part to play in making this country what it is.

The list is too long. Nevertheless you can do your presentation on the following:

EDUCATION:

1. Is it worthwhile to teach Shakespeare at school?

2. Is learning Algebra worthy with regard to our daily-life?

ECONOMY:

1. What are the effects of big corporations on our life?

2. Would a fair distribution of the global "Bakery-Basket" have effects on the prevalence of terrorism?

POLITICS:

1. Is it right to export our type of democracy, even when it requires invading other countries, or even a masked invasion?

2. What is the alternative to our elections system, so I would not have to abstain or elect the least evil?

GENERAL:

1. Do religions divide, or it is the people approach and interpretation of the text?

2. Emancipation of the salves in America is great, but what are some of the negative side-effects, and what could have been the alternative?

3. Some young people in Saudi Arabia say, "We have got the money and we start where others stopped". How false or true this is, taking into consideration the infrastructure of the country?

The above are some topics. I hope they are not tough, but if you can handle it, definitely, you will positively leave a deep impression.

Communism did not fail, it evolved, the Chinese prove that fact every day.
Now there is a topic that cuts a wide swath. The Education System is decent, the people are economically surviving, some are prospering to unheard of levels. As for knowledge, they have been at that for two thousand years or so.

Out of the options u hae mentioned, I feel economy will be the best area for discussion and debate in these days of LPG, Liberalisation, Privatisation, Globalisation. There is a tremendous amount of scope for debate, discussion, deliberation in this topic on placing arguments for and against globalisation. A discussion or a chat with a person with economic background will give additional information and points for your presentation. For further information contact my friend in sa8298 yahoo com He is also a columnist on the topic in local english dailies.

All the best.

Research the average incomes of 18-25 year olds living with their parents. Find out what types of employment they have, what they spend their income on, how much goes toward savings etc.. And provide ideas for how these people could be more independent (self-sufficient). You can do interviews of friends as well as use statistics gathered from gov't and marketing research.
