The Bible doesn't really make a damned bit of sense, you can hurt your brain trying to logically make heads or tails of the mess.

There are some very silly commentaries on this. However, the Bible stays vague, so we do not know the details. We can see by how Shem and Japheth hid their view from seeing their father and that they covered him was the right thing to do. So it seems that Ham, instead of covering his father, rather may have made it an object of ridicule (and told his two brothers outside). Sort of a "check out dad" sort of attitude. In that patriarchal society, this was extremely bad. Shem and Japheth did the right thing by covering their father, so they were blessed by Noah for their actions.

Noah got angry with the son that did not cover him up.
According to some Bible expositors, the Hebrew implies a possible sexual connotation with Noah being seen naked. The KJV says Noah "knew what his son had done to him." (Genesis 9:24)

The exact reason remains a mystery.

You have to look at the culture. Even in the world today we see the culture still has effect on people. Seeing someone naked was disgraceful. And they were making fun of it. When the soldiers in Iraq piled up all those captives, naked, took pictures and sent them out online, it was an absolute disgrace for them to be seen naked. The culture in the middle east was very strict on this. If you are stumped on biblical stories and why they happen the way they do. Go back to the culture and find out why.

It is clear if God wanted the body of the human organism to be covered the blessed would be covered from head to toes in feathers, hear, of gill arches of bone. This is why God became upset; for demonizing the human organism's body which God created butt naked; with only a buff of hair covering the crutch area upon entering adulthood. Plain and simple. I can't stand that "religious" people minimize their "god"; or attempt to box him in. That is not my God; that is not my Heavenly Father; with a mentality and perspective so vast that the only thing that the religious can do; seeing their ignorance is subject what God has created free.

When Ham saw his father Noah, who was passed out and naked, he was ashamed. Then instead of covering Noah up himself, he left the tent and told Shem and Japheth, who in turn covered him up.

His father's nakedness was Noah's wife. His son had sex with his own mother.

Here's the biblical passage from Leviticus, which references the issue explicitly, and in great detail:

Lev 18:5 Keep my laws and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them, I am the Lord.
Lev 18:6 No man shall approach to her that is near of kin to him, to uncover her nakedness. I am the Lord.
Lev 18:7 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother: she is thy mother, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
Lev 18:8 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's wife: for it is the nakedness of thy father.

Some say that Ham did a homosexual act. From what I get, he merely gossiped and embarrassed Noah. God hates gossip.

Study it a bit more. The son that looked upon his father nakedness. Then he sinned in exposing his fathers sin to his breathern. This is not honoring your father. On top of this his father was also was the rightious man whom God had honored. He was the friend of God. Never touch the anointed of God nor expose there sin, That is a matter between God and them.
