First, I would scope out some really cool place for the MIL to live. There are all kinds of retirement places that have senior adult activities and she would be friends with people that have common interests. Do your homework. Then mention it to your husband and tell him that it would be best for your marriage and also for his mom if she had a place of her own. If she is still too young to be considered a "senior", then go about it the same way, but just scope out some relatively inexpensive apartments or houses that are rented based on income.

Be Honest, holding it in only makes you resentfull and it will in time hurt your relationship. Also be sure to tell him as you are helping mom out the door that you are willing to do what it takes within reason to support her. But that when you got a ring you also got a promise that is that YOU are the most important woman in his life and if his mom did her job right then she would be the first person to agree with you. But I say this without knowing any details

just try to talk to him and your mother in law together, try to explain what you are feeling and what you would like to happen. But don't try to make him choose between his mom and you.
