I think that is like asking what is the difference between an apple and a piece of fruit. Religion is just a type of superstition.

A Religion is a set of beliefs and practices generally held by a number of persons. Religious adherence to codified beliefs and rituals generally involves faith in spirituality and study of ancestral or cultural traditions, knowledge and wisdom related to understanding human life. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction.

A superstition is the irrational belief that future events are influenced by specific behaviors, without having a causal relationship.

So to sum up the answer Religion is a belief system, superstition is having no belief system. Religion sees a cause and effect relationship in the world. Non-Religion sees behaviors as having no causal relationship.

Eh, Superstition is something done to prevent something from happining with no logic reason [IE, rabbit's foot.] Christianity can be placed here [as well as religion] [Practice or go to Hell]

Religion is a set of beliefs, which may or may not have a risk/reward. For example, I am a religious person, but I do not believe I will be punished for anything eternally.

Religions usually offer a way to live one's life; getting freaked out when a black cat crosses your path can hardly be said to have any redeeming values. Buddhism is often called a religion, but definitely involves no superstition. In fact, The Buddha himself told people to test his teachings themselves.

Religion is according your life to God. Superstition is what some people think simple mistakes will result in bad luck or good luck. Some examples are Christianity believes in God and the Holy Bible and superstitious people believe that a die colored rabbits foot will protect them from evil. Whats more reasonable.

Anything not in any religion is a superstition. As for me, anything not in my religion is a superstition for me.

It doesn't.

"I have recently been examining all the known superstitions of the world, and do not find in our particular superstition (Christianity) one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology."

We need to define our terms. Religion is man's attempt to reach God. Superstition is based on inanimate objects being part of guiding one's life. Christianity sets itself apart by being God reaching down to man because man cannot accomplish his own salvation.
