I know you're here and are active within this site. I would really like to know what you believe. I'm interested in reading your responses. I honestly don't know about Atheists. I'd rather read your responses here than check a web-site, because it's more personal.

Thanks.

We "believe" anything which can be proved objectively. A real Atheist does not reject God or accept God but can only regard God as an unproven hypothesis. If objective proof became available that showed that God did exist the Atheists would be the first to accept him whereas all other religions would be arguing that this cannot be God because he doesn't fit their model.
It is wrong to characterize Atheists as believing that there is no God because this would require proof that God does not exist. Without objective proof we just do not know but find it difficult to understand people who can believe without objective proof and to deny things for which objective proof does exist purely based on the "fact" that the truth does not fit within their belief structure.
Obviously I cannot speak for all atheists since there is not any official atheist organization but to maintain rationality this has to be near the belief of most.
From what I see on Y/A it would appear that many so called atheists do have some proof that God does not exist and I would like to see that but I really think they just have an absence of proof that God does exist and make a logical jump that Don't know = don't exist.

We do not believe in God(s)...pretty simple.
(I'm sure someone will come along and tell you that we believe in nothing, which is completely wrong. People who believe in nothing are nihilists)
HAHA, like the person below me who is so full of hate and misunderstanding.

There are also two types of atheists, "Weak Atheists", and "Strong Atheists". Weak atheists doubt the existence of Gods, and strong atheists believe that there are no Gods PERIOD. The difference is the strength of the belief. (And if you think a weak atheist sounds just like an agnostic, well the difference is the doubt. Agnostics do not lean one way or the other)

Here is one of my beliefs...

As long as the two largest religious groups on this planet are Christians and Muslims, there will be no peace.

Here is another...

Human cognition is an unusual byproduct of evolution that gives us the frustrating ability to ask questions that we are neither intelligent or evolved enough to understand the answers to. Yet.

And another...

Most atheists I've had the pleasure of communicating with are remarkably intelligent, educated, well spoken, open-minded, flexible, non-judgmental, peaceful and unprejudiced. I can't begin to say the same for some theists I've encountered.

I believe in critical thinking.

I believe in evidential claims. In other words, extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proof.

I believe quite strongly in learning and discovering things for myself. I rarely accept information or explanations from people without researching and comparing them against other sources.

I believe that there is a vast amount of misinformation in the world which most people wrongly (though innocently) believe is factual.

I believe most people are driven by the desire to avoid paid (fear) and the desire to seek pleasure (vice), and this is what causes the majority of problems in their lives. I think religion is way for them to alleviate their fears (through denial), and rationalize their transgressions (through supposed divine absolution, for which there is no hard evidence.)

I believe that most people would rather instruct others by reciting someone else's words and thoughts than by using their own common sense, wisdom and judgment, or instruct by example (ie. walk the walk.)

I believe the fear of ultimate death is what makes people cling so strongly to religion, and that if the day ever comes that science can halt aging, on achieve immortality in some fashion, humans will abandon religion within a generation or two.

I believe that most Americans graduate high school without the ability to pass 5th grade spelling and grammar exams.

allah; 6.5 allah may or may not be jehovah depending who you ask, so, 6.5
zeus, thor etc; 6. seriously doubt
deist god, pantheist god; 5. probably not but not 100% prepared to rule it out.
god-like aliens; 4. not a clue either way.

Athiests I have encountered are simply people who have no faith in anything greater than themselves. They are usually thinkers who hold great value and pride in their vast amount of knowledge. They will quite often avoid any spiritual discussion or setting as they fear being vulnerable or opening theirselves up to any thing contrary to their way of thinking. Faith is believing what you cannot see or prove but knowing in your heart that God is real. Athiests are not able to get past the natural to enter into the supernatural.

How do you know that your question will be read by only atheists? I will watch with interest what they say in reply to your question. But I feel even a non-believer is also a believer. By saying that he doesn't believe in God, they are just telling that they also cannot ignore Him. They will foolishly quote "The Origin of Species" and other such materials and try to prove His inexistence. They, however, fail to realize that they cannot explain anything before the so called origin!

i believe in mutual respect. i am an atheist and i don't believe in the existence of a higher power. which is not to say i believe that gives me the right to do all manner of reprehensible things. if you're a christian or whatever that's cool as long as you don't impose your beliefs on me.

Oh shoot, she has those magic glasses on that can see us... ; )

Basically...I/we just don't believe that gods (or any other related entities or religious concepts) exist. Beyond that our beliefs and interests can vary.
