I live in texas, and work in insurance.
You've only got a few options...

First, try this:
http://www.txhealthpool.com/

It how lots of self employed folks I know have coverage here.

and, try www.cigna.com
They're starting to offer small business & group of one policies in Tx.

www.BCBSTX.com is another option..

There's not really a high ded plan for self employed people... Sorry. Good luck.

I live in Texas and I'm a self employed carpenter. Two years ago I cut my finger, back then I was glad that I had already found a good health insurance. Btw, the deductibles for self employed aren't so devilish high...
I can recommend you this site, they offer affordable and yet reliable health insurance at Texas:http://healthinsurancecheck.org/cheap-healthinsurance-texas
Now it's calming me down knowing to have a good insurance...

Take care

I will be starting a new business in a few months so I have been researching health insurance and found that http://healthquoteneeded.excellentabc.com was a great start in letting me compare plans and prices. I'm not sure if they have anything in Texas but you could check.

Good luck

There isn't any. The last chance was Hillary Clinton's plan from the early 1990's but people thought the drug companies ads were so cute they killed the plan. For now your best bet is to marry someone from a country with national health care. Fortunately there are a lot to chose from--Canada, England, Germany, Sweden, Japan, Switzerland...actually there are so many that have national health care that its easier to list the ones that don't. That would be the US. Vote Democratic next time.
