I think this website gives a really good explanation as to how to go about eating the right amount of calories and also how to lose weight without going too fast or injuring your systems in the process.

This site actually has a calorie requirement calculator that you can use to approximate the amount of calories need to maintain your current weight. Then you need only to eat less than that estimated amount and add a pretty rigorous exercise regime to burn excess calories and hopefully you should be well on your way to losing weight.

Well, first of all, we need to know how many calories you consume on an average day. Lets say if you are consuming around 2000, then try eating around 1600, a day to start off. Try that for around a week or so, so your body gets used to the amount you're taking in and slowly start to reduce (but not until you're completely starving yourself). But include cardiovascular excercises. That's the most important thing rather than just reducing the amount you eat as it builds up muscles in your body. If you do this for around a month, you should see a difference. Make sure you don't go overboard with your diet, and good luck!

When I started to lose weight, I used www.caloriesperhour.com. It has a lot of helpful advice that are very useful. I used the food calorie calculator to enter everything I ate, and the activity calculator to calculate my calorie burn...At the end of the day, if I hadn't burned more than I had ate, I would run until there was a deficit. Good luck, it is possible, stick with it!

Your body automatically burns a certain amount of calories everyday, just by doing its normal processes. Usually, people who have normal healthy weight and eat 2,000 calories a day burn 2,000 calories a day. You just have to find out from your doctor how many calories your body burns automatically, then slowly cut out the calories, increasing the amount you cut out as you go. If you stick to a certain amount of calories, say 1500, for too long, your body adapts and starts to only burn 1500 calories a day. Slowly and steadily cut down on calories until you reach your target weight.
