Dolphins are not fish, thats why the surface to breath. They have no gills. They are like whales in that manner. They are friendly as a rule and will follow a boat. They live in salt water, as a rule. I dont know if any live in fresh water. So if you live near the coast in FL they are there..How to catch them? I dont know..I would not want to catch one.

The (school dolphin, mahi mahi) what ever you want to call it is a salt water fish . They do not reside in fresh water lakes. They are oceanic. Reds can and do tolerate brackish water but i have yet to see them in fresh water only.I am a MICHIGAN MAN .(but i do feel the urge of the snowbird now and then at least once a year) and never go without my rod and reel. I'm no expert but I have lots of fishing experience(44years with rod in hand)
