I am Christian and my guess is that most of you do. Would it be better if you found out which of us you could be working with in constructive ways? Can you do that by mocking us and assuming we are all insane fundamentalists? I realize that many of you do engage us in reasonable dialog and seek common ground but that is not what I am seeing at the moment.

You have to remember that there's good & bad in every group. The atheists who hate Christians are no better than the holy roller Christians. Why can't you people understand he's not putting anyone down, he's asking a question

Your definition of world peace seems to be more about everyone accepting your view of god than having anything really to do with peace. How does that make you different from the enemy that wishes to destroy you? World peace means accepting the fact that we are all different while allowing everyone to have their own piece of the pie. From everything I've witnessed, the majority of Christians, Muslims and Jews (the Abrahamic religions) see themselves as being superior and are not willing to do that.

Christianity is not what the world wants, it's what Christians think the world wants, and it doesn't jive with reality. Islam is the second largest religion, and is at direct odds with the Judeo/Christian world. They are not going away, and neither are Christians, so I guess as long both these faiths exist, there will not be peace.

I don't know any atheists who want to war against any religions. We'd prefer you all just wake up, and grow up, in that order.

Well when I see Christians answering a question like "If God told you to kill your child would you." and they answer YES I get disgusted!

So long as people are willing to engage in brutal ways towards a child just because they have delusions of a God (Not doesn't exist by the way) telling them to do it this world can not see peace!
If these people would do that to their own child how much less would it take for them to do that to someone that doesn't buy into their madness!

What is stopping world peace is RELIGION!
The idea that a God is supporting one group over another will result in war after stupid war! The only way to stop this crap is to realize THERE IS NO GOD!

SO STOP KILLING IN THE NAME OF A FANTASY!

Of course. If this is my only life...yeah it would be nice to live in a world that valued that concept and tried to make this place the best it can be for all.

Poking fun at people is not causing the wars (unless it's a drawing...) ...so there are worse issues to worry about.

Yes, I am willing to work with you. In fact, I do. I've volunteered alongside Christians in political movements, moving dirt around doing environmental cleanup, and giving food to the homeless. We definitely have common ground.

Believe??? What do you mean, believe? Do I believe there will ever be world peace? NO! Do I believe that it's possible? NO! Do I want world peace?.....Well, there are quite a few benefits that come from war including medicine technology, communications technology, in fact technology itself has been greatly improved during times of war. And let us not forget that the world is extremely over populated and war serves as a way of keeping population growth in check. So, no I don't want world peace even if it were possible. Which it isn't.

No. We're actively pursuing all-out war in the Middle East in the hopes that it will turn into a worldwide conflagration, and then Richard Dawkins will come down out of the sky and finish the whole nasty business for us.

Yeah, this definitely sounds like a polite open invitation to a progressive discussion...

But anyway, what would you say is the first step toward world peace? Love of God? Ooooh, looks like talks just broke down...

While world peace would be nice, and it is something i wish we could have, but realistically world peace is an impossibility simply because we have so many different moral codes, governments and belief systems.
