If someone gives you another mouse for your computer at work and doesn't take the old one back, do you have two mouses or do you have mice? Please advise.

I think you'd have to completely avoid the issue by saying "I have my old mouse and my new mouse." Or just get rid of one of them.

Both are grammatically correct.
The plural noun only applies to the rodent, but the electronic mouse can inherit the plural as well as the singular name. i.e. Mouses would only be electronic mouses.

I'm going to guess mice.

And if this was a joke, cue laughter.
