I'm pretty sure I don't use quotation marks when I want to type out a thought. But, I'm not sure how to type it out... Do I italicize it? Do I use double quotations? Do I use single quotation marks? Do I type it out like I would for someone saying something? (ex: " I'm so confused," she said.)

"How do I type out a thought," Lil thought to herself,
as she settled into into the luxurious recliner on her patio overlooking the shimmering ocean, martini in hand...
Just like that. Well, not the part about the patio & martini and all that, but the first part.
