You might have to travel to buy one and before you do check with your local council weather you can put it on the road lots of councils have capped the hackney carriages licences as there are to many on the road i am a hack and a private hire driver i reverted to private long a go go to a few taxi offices and on the ranks check out what it is like and don't be disillusioned thinking it is a life of Reilly being a cab driver i hate the job long long hours grief un-soacilable and over run with people trying to make money it is a cut throat business and if you become one god help you you being a taxi driver in Manchester has no bearings on me i am from the north east Dave

Call a local cab company, they may have one they don't want but I would be wary of a cab, they accumulate a lot of city miles.
