And savor the sweet knowledge of purpose for ourselves? Or should he not even get a biscuit, hypocrite that he was?

After all, it is difficult being non-religious with all of the preaching on this board, but oh the rewards for being compassionate and loving simply for the sake of humanity and not so as to "get into heaven" or "please God"? As an atheist/agnostic and a humanist, I proclaim myself the winner. Methinks Pascal is a dime short of a quarter.

How come he gets a biscuit and I don't?

I don't agree with Pascal's Wager either. I'm a Christian. The desire, the love, the experiences that God brings enters into the heart. That's why Jesus said, " Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, strength, and mind. It's deeper than a "just in case" thing.

Besides, God decides who he wants in heaven with him. Even the desire comes from him.

Pascal's wager is full of holes and a lacks logic.
1)He doesn't take into consideration that there is more than one God for people to believe in.
2)He doesn't take into account what you lose if you worship God and find out there is no God ($ given to churches and priests, time wasted reading the Bible, time wasted praying, time wasted in church....essentially, you lose the ONLY life you have)

If I could, I would give 100 to 1 odds against Pascal's wager.

it rather is a sucker's guess, via fact that is one which you would be able to't win. this is why: Pascal's guess surely says that the fee of believing in God and the advantages reaped with the aid of doing so a techniques outweigh the available effects for no longer believing. even nonetheless, the guess is in line with a pretend assumption. till credible evidence is provided to wish one god over yet another, the only thank you to "win" the guess could be to worship ALL gods. the topic, even nonetheless, is that many gods require unique worship, so the 2d you flow to worship Allah, you have broken your p.c.. with the Christian god, and the guess fails. it rather is only the main obtrusive explanation why Pascal's guess isn't basically a fastened interest, yet a broken one. some theists might such as you to have faith that theirs is the only interest on the city; till they are able to coach me that the deck isn't stacked (or that the deck even exists), i will sit down the interest out.
