Use Vaseline.Or even honey..apply it for sometime then rise..your skin will be soft.Or also try applying Johnson and Johnson baby oil..(only if the roughness is on the body).

I also have the most sensitive skin in the universe...seriously. Neutragena's extra mild face lotion burns when I apply it. I can only use Olay sensitive skin..... and even I can tolerate THIS minidermabrasion everyday...for about 6 bucks a MONTH. No joke

Take some arm and hammer baking soda ( use the brand name , it just works better) , and mix it with cetaphil extra gentle cleanser:
~ wet your face
~ sprinkle baking soda into your palm. Use a pile the size of a dime for everyday use , use more ( the size of a quarter) if your skin is looking a bit dull , or you feel you need some extra smoothing.
~ add Cetaphil. Squirt enough to make a very loose paste about the consitancy of yogurt. make it a thicker paste for xtra buffing.
~ apply to the face and massage gently for no less than 30 seconds.
~ rinse thoroughly with warm water. Rinse again .
~Pat dry and apply your everyday moisturizer.

Think of how great a salt scrub works on your body...this is a salt polish for your face . It's NOT rough , it doesn't nick , scratch, or tear into the skin. Its just gently removes the top-most layer without damage. Like soft-scrub works for porcelain...nothing harsh.

Within 3 days my skin was smoother , the tone became more even with discolorations fading fast, and my skin had that "glow" you just can't get from cosmetics. After a week it wasn't even like "my" skin. It was like getting a brand new face. I rarely wear an actual foundation anymore... and when I do , its just a light dusting of the bare minerals.

Seriously, I'm passionate about this because it literally changed my skin. I do this everynight when washing to remove make-up . in the mornings , I use the cetaphil cleanser in the , no baking soda, and follow with moisturizer . i rarely use the baking soda in the AM , unless my skin is being poopy.

the bonus ...if it doesnt work you are ONLY out 6 bucks.

Rough skin is really just an excessive accumulation of dead skin cells on the outer layer of the skin. It can be aggravated by extreme temps, skin types, and even stress. I would suggest you expholiating regularly and using a good moisturizer on your trouble spots. But be careful not to upset the balance of the natural oils in your skin by over-moisturizing. It will send a signal to you skin cells saying "dont produce much moisture, we are getting plenty from the lotion!" Its really a tightrope walk, especially in winter. It may indicate a more serious skin condition, so anything that is rashy, or has blisters should be imediately reported to your doctor or dermatologist. HOPE U FIND A SOLUTION!!! :)

Are you sure you've tried the right lotions? They often contain heavy perfumes and alcohol, which do not help your skin. I've tried many different lotions, and Vaseline Intensive Care is the best brand I've tried. Use it at least three times a day while your skin is dry, and if you're going out in the cold, cover up, because chilly wind can dry out your skin fast.

Welllllll... Fragrance lotion makes skin ashy... The type of soap you use too makes skin even ashier.. Right after you wash urself you have 3MINUTES to put on lotion so the moisture can stay in.. The best lotion out there is Burt's Bees.. (Anything with shea butter or cocoa butter) And stop using the lotion thats like from the pump.. use something thats like a BUTTER that comes in a jar and its hard.. it'll last longgggerr ((BEURRE DE KARITE SHEA BUTTER BY L'OCCITANE))its expensive but worth it.. AND ITs NO FRAGRANCE..PALMERS COCOA BUTTER WORKS TOO BUT THE THING IS YOU HAVE TO BE FAITHFULL just like the rest of the lotions!! burtsbees has ALOT of good products and its cheaper... Use only VITAMIN E soap you can find it in an organic store.. or ask the clerk ..Don't use things thats smells too good because thats what makes ur skin ashy.. and don't take HOT HOT HOT showers.. make the skin ashier.. I hope this helps!!

All of these suggestions sound good and expensive. I have really dry skin. So dry that I don't shave my legs in the winter unless I have to. In the winter, I use Vaseline brand petroleum jelly and in the summer I use Palmer's Cocoa Butter. Vaseline does rub in if you don't use globs of it. Apply whatever oils or lotions you use within five minutes of getting out of the shower or bath. Do not use super hot water when you wash as that will make dry skin worse. Do drink lots of water because moisture works from the inside out, skin, hair, nails, everything. Watch the temperature in your home and use a humidifier in the room(s) where you spend the most time.

Cleopatra used to bathe in milk to keep her skin supple. I've added about a half gallon of milk to bath water a few times and it does seem to help, as does adding a full box of baking soda, but not at the same time.

Use a more intensive moisturizing lotion after you exfloliate your skin with a facial scrub, this help to unclog the pores which prevent the lotion from being absorb into the skin fully to take full moisturizing effect.

Depending on where the rough skin is on the body or the face. I would recommend seeing dermatologist or see your local beauty therapist. They can recommend a good moisteriser or product specially aimed for the area. Good luck!

GlobalDiva said it all! My sentiments exactly! The only other thing I would recommend is PLAIN original Dove soap. It has no fragrance but honestly it still smells pretty good naturally.
Also, Vaseline is great as a lip gloss/ balm too.
Listen to me and GlobalDiva and you will look great without spending much $. Forget paying for all that stuff you can't pronounce or afford.

Have you tried like a heavier body cream or body butter? It's a lot thicker than regular lotion. I use Bath and Body works body butter in the true blue spa line and it works really good and it also smells great.
