I have run into this problem at parties when this topic comes up. I am truly very pro immigration, but I also strongly support securing the border.

Yes, you most certainly can! That's my view, as well. I am very pro-immigration and very anti-illegal immigration. The two are apples and oranges, not the same thing, at all.
