I am putting together a book for my dads 70th birthday with letters from friends and family that they have written about my father. I have also obtained pictures of my father from when he was young to present day. Does anyone have any ideas how to make it into a real book? Kinkos maybe...I really have no clue. Help! I only have a few weeks left!

If you have MS Word and a scanner you can do it pretty easily. Word has an option to print the pages in book format. The book format is basically regular printer paper folded in half so the short sides meet. Then the fold is the back of the book.

It does all the set up so you enter the information from page 1 to the end and Word does the work to set it up for printing. You have to use multiples of 4 pages as each sheet of paper will make that many pages. When printing, if you want printing on both sides of the paper you might have to manually feed the papers but when done you should have a book with the pages in correct order.

You can set up a second book format file to print out a card stock cover so you have some heavy duty protection if you want. Then you can staple yourself or sometimes take all the assembled pages to a print shop to be stapled. Sometimes you end up with the edges of the paper not being neatly lined up because of the fold but you can easily trim the excess.

You can scan the pictures and use the images on a computer to construct pages for the book and can print them out and have them laminated.

well maybe you can go to a hobby lobby or what not and find a scapbook something that reflects what kind of person he is...If he enjoys fishing or camping or outdoors even cars see if you can find something that he has always enjoyed...a little bit of glue and your set...start with his his oldest mem so when he thinks back that far he will smile right away...good luck :)
