hmmmm... I don't really know what this means... Its from Life of Pi. I thought it sounded very interesting but I'm not sure
1. what depravity means
2. what dignity has to do with religion

please help! well if you want...

this really is a great book. I highly suggest it to anyone. even if just for the story though it does have religous themes in it.

Actually, Christianity teaches both.
Dignity (or worthiness) of human beings, because we are created in the image of God, we are loved by God, He pais a high price to redeem us.
Depravity (unworthiness) because we have broken the image, and are therefore unable to even respond properly to God's love, But He sent His Holy Spirit to draw us in.

Great book.
It means that most religions focus on beating the sin out of you, when they should be teaching you to focus inward.
That's where everything happens.
Hey, if anyone hasn't read this book yet, it's a good one.

Don't worry about it dignity is that thing inside you that lets you know you have a right to be here and it has nothing to do with
religion

There is just enough religion in the world to make men hate one another and not enough to inspire them to love. I think this is a more accurate statement.

dignity means standing up for what you believe in...whether it is religious or not...DEPRAVITY means to deprive someone of something ...withhold...
