In Smart Moneys test the Yaris got a rating of 2 stars, the Honda Fit got 3.5, Chevy Aveo: 3, and Nissan Versa 2.5

Well i am unfamiliar with your stereo setup, but you can always replace the speakers with something better. Your factory radio should be just fine as far as its sound clarity, but your speakers are probably made of "paper" and dont produce clean and clear music/talk. you will want to upgrade all 4 speakers to something "3 ways" which means that you have a tweeter, midrange and woofer built into the 1 speaker, this will keep you within a decent budget and obviously increase sound clarity. there are more expensive ways to go like components, but they are generally moer expensive and require much more install and usually work best with and aftermarket amplifier.
good luck!

Go to best buy or Future shop and get a new system for your entire car.
