I am allergic to wheat in general. I avoid things with wheat, which is near impossible because everything in a package has wheat in it. Except I eat Ezekiel 4:9 bread. It has wheat in it, but it is sprouted and has less gluten. I am not allergic to it at all. You can get it at health food stores or sometimes your local grocery store. Check the frozen food isles. It has to be frozen because it is live grain.
DeBoles makes corn and rice (wheat free) products like pasta.
Food for Life makes gluten and wheat free breads.
Bob's Red Mill makes cake, bread, and cookie flour that is wheat free.

THERE IS a soy bread- it tkaes a bit ofgetting used to a bit "heavier" then reg but beats having to deal with the affects of wheat. I get it a Wegmans here in New Jersey also at health food stores.

If you truly are allergic to wheats you most likely are also sensitive to dairy (both my kids are allegic to cow dairy and in testing found to be also with wheats thus we have to avoid all dairy, wheat, and certain pasta/rices. you may be safest to contact a nutriotionlaist(spelling sorry) and find out exactly what and how to avoid these.

Best of luck

I am so sorry. My son was allergic to eggs, milk, and wheat when he was little, but he outgrew it. Wheat is really tough, because that is what flour is made from, even if it is white bread. I don't know about breads like rye and pumpernickel, but my guess is that they contain flour (check the label). You may have to adjust to using corn tortillas in place of bread.

I am also allergic to wheat. A good health food store carries lots of alternatives. Bread made from spelt flour (another type of grain) is a great alternative, because it is also gluten free. You can also buy spelt flour or soy flour to bake with. I made Nestle toll house cookies with soy flour at Christmas, and they turned out great!
