Why does require the newest hardware, why is it bigger every time?

For the same reason that McDonalds and Burger King keep trying to get you to buy burgers - they need to make money to stay in business. If they just stopped making new software they would quickly go out of business.

Buying updated software and hardware is an option.
We were born with a free will.
Some people want to feel like they have the newest and best.
We have to help Bill Gates put his kids through college.
Technology is constantly changing.
If your hardware and software are doing all that you need done, no need to upgrade until your computer crashes.

the Operating System must advance along with the hardware the new Vista is not just cooler looking it supports much more new technology that would not be able to run on XP like the new Hybrid harddrives that use not only a spinning drive but Flash memory like the memory in a USB Thumbdrive. but this is not the only new hardware there is lots of others

They don't....but what is wrong with newer software...you can't go wrong with that. Everything is chagning...so when computers become very fast, software becomes better.
Just look at web site layouts for example...they are changing. Sites now include alot of interaction stuff like videos and flash. So that is slowing it down more but seems the same speed.

People are gullible. There is no need to pay for reliable, up to date operating systems and software. And, it's legal.
